Our mission

Truckee River United FC aims to provide year-round, highly competitive soccer programs. We develop soccer as a sport and a culture and promote a positive environment where sportsmanship and teamwork are highly valued. We provide premier-level coaching and training opportunities and improve players’ athletic ability as we train them to their greatest potential.

Soccer Methodology

A soccer match is a complex system. Players who learn to see through the complexity, identify the most important information, and turn it into purposeful action will strongly impact their team.

Using a positional game model along with the TOVO methodology, Truckee River United FC brings these principles of vision, decision, and action to our players. Our region has no shortage of strong, technical athletes. Truckee River United FC refines how players think about the game, and at the highest levels, thinking faster (not running faster) creates elite players.

Our cognitively demanding training teaches players to find, create, and exploit space within the game. When players see the game as a series of ever-changing relationships of time and space, rather than isolated technical actions, their confidence and development blossom.

In addition to technical skill and game intelligence, Truckee River United FC stresses character and leadership on and off the field.
