Become a TRU FC
Referee

Want to help create flexibility with our home game scheduling, plus make a little money? We are always looking to expand our referee pool for the club and there are virtual classes to get certified as a referee. For new referees, sign up for instruction here. All potential referees must be 13 years or older.

If you are certified as an Intermediate Referee (or higher) with AYSO, you can cross-register to USSF by filling out some forms and paying the fees. If you already have your Grassroots Refereeing Certification you can renew it here.

When we return to play,  we will need referees for our games. There are different rates for different referee roles (Center and Assistant Referee) as well as the age group you officiate. For all new referees, we will have you work with a referee mentor at scrimmages or games before we let you be a center or assistant referee on your own. For all under the age of 18, you will need to referee games 2 years under your age group. If you are 13 (U14) you could referee U12 and below.

Here is what we currently pay per game for experienced referees. Note these figures will change for new referees until they have finished their mentorship with an experienced referee, about 3 games/scrimmages. Also, all referees will need to be registered with Cal North Referee Association (CNRA).

U17 - U19

  • Center - $65/game

  • Assistant - $55/game

U14 - U16

  • Center - $55/game

  • Assistant - $45/game

U13

  • Center - $45/game

  • Assistant - $35/game

U11 - U12

  • Center - $35/game

  • Assistant - $25/game

U10 and below

  • Center - $35/game

With a wider referee pool we will have more flexibility when scheduling home games. If you are interested, sign up for the virtual Grassroots class or for more information please email Neil Kaufman at truckeeriverrefassignor@gmail.com.
